UEW Supports 2016 National Farmers Day Celebration

The University of Education, Winneba, has presented farming and fishing equipment to the Effutu Municipal Assembly on 28th October, 2016 in support of the 32nd National Farmers Day Celebration this year. The items comprised 60 Sharpened Crocodile Machetes, 20 Pairs of Wellington Boots, and 4 Fishing Hooks.

Presenting the equipment on behalf of the Management of the University, the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah stated that the items were presented as part of the social responsibility of the University and also as a way of showing institutional support to farmers and fishermen in the Effutu Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Francis Ayikwei Tagoe expressed his profound gratitude to the management of the University for the items presented to the Assembly. He lauded the efforts of the University to assist farmers and fishermen in the municipal. He also extended invitation to management to attend the 2016 National Farmers Day Celebration scheduled on 4th November, 2016.

Present at the ceremony were: Municipal Coordinating Director,Mr. Francis Owusu Ansah, Assistant Director, Mrs. Adjoa Amofa, the Store Keeper, Ms. Grace Lumor, Head, University Relations and Protocol Services, Israel Fugar and the University Webmaster, Mr. Emmanuel Kutorglo.
