WAEC releases 2017 NOV/DEC results, withholds 1,873 over alleged Irregularities

Results of the 2017 West African Senior School  Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates (NOV/DEC) has been released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
According to a report from the West African Examination Council, it has withheld the results of a total of 1,873 candidates who took the WASSCE for private candidates.
WAEC has alleged, that such candidates were involved in various examination malpractices.
The Council has, however, released results of 117, 306 candidates who took the exams and assured to release the rest as soon as the council concludes investigations on the withheld results.
The council also cautioned the Public on the activities of fraudsters who contact candidates with the promise of altering their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfer.
WAEC indicated, that  all forged results can be detected by the confirmation of the verification system.
