Overview
The Department of Forensic Sciences began as a programme under the erstwhile Department of Biomedical and Forensic Sciences. The department received accreditation to run the forensic science programme in 2014. In August 2015, the Biomedical Science programmes in the Department were migrated to join the School of Allied Health Sciences in the College of Health and Allied Sciences, leaving the Forensic Science programmes with the School of Biological Sciences.
Admission Requirements: Candidates should have credit passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The passes must be in the three core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science) and three electives in the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics).
Mature students with SSCE/WASSCE or its equivalent, may be admitted to Level 100 after passing an entrance examination and an interview. Similarly, candidates who have at least second class lower in Diploma from recognized Universities or Higher National Diploma (HND) from Polytechnic in Biomedical related courses such as Laboratory technology and Dispensary Technology may be admitted to the third year (Level 300) after passing an entrance examination and interview.
