Do you know that everyone at different stages of life encounters periods of stress and personal difficulty? Yes, it is for this reason the RMU established the Guidance and Counselling Office to assist students who experience such difficulties, which may interfere with them getting the most out of their study time.
We offer ‘FREE’ and ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ guidance and counselling services and students can freely walk in at any time during the working hours, or call the Counsellor during non working hours in crisis situations to discuss any difficulties they encounter. We offer you the most valuable help or information that you may need.
The office works with students through academic/career counselling, personal-social counselling, group counselling, orientation, workshops and seminars etc.
Our services are available to all registered students of the RMU

STUDENTS AFFAIRS
ACCOMMODATION:
It is the policy of the University to provide the most conducive environment for students in developing their academic and social abilities to the fullest. Halls of residence are considered an integral part of the holistic educational development, hence, we desire our students to be at home away from home. However, limited lodging facilities are available for regular students on first come first served basis.

By virtue of their training, the first and second year students of the Marine Engineering and Nautical Science during their cadetship training are automatic residents after which the remaining available bed spaces are allocated to other students.  In the latter case, preference is given to fresh foreign nationals.
Also, limited rooms are available for Upgrading students at a fee per semester.

Terms of Occupancy
i)        Apart from RMU Cadets whose residency is renewed per semester, interested applicants must apply to the Registrar each semester for consideration.
ii)      Bed is allocated per semester at $50 for cadets and $150 for non-cadets.  Payment for allocation must be made into the fees account with the Finance Directorate.
iii)    Students who voluntarily withdraw from their halls of residence, or are dismissed/withdrawn from the University would be considered as having forfeited their right to occupancy and are ineligible for a refund of the facility user fee.

Canteen Services:
Private catering services are available for all students.  The mess/dining parlor is mainly used by cadets while the MOWCA Gardens is accessed by non cadets.

Students Life on Campus:
Supported by strong student governance led by the Students Representative Council (SRC), RMU students have the opportunity to determine their roles in fulfillment of their mental, spiritual and social development.  Students engage in creative writing, cultural interactions, career fairs, faculty networking, sports and entertainment activities on campus.
